Soldier, Five Others Gunned Down By Unknowns Assailants In Jos

A soldier attached to the Special Task Force (STF) on Jos crisis and five others were gunned down by unknown gunmen in an attack in Bisich village, Barkin Ladi local government area, Plateau state. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Tukur Yusuf Buratai Residents of the area told Premium Times that the soldier, a flight Lieutenant simply identified as Abubakar, and five other persons, were killed during a raid on their community.
A witness, Yakubu Abubakar, said, “They shot and injured flight lieutenant Abubakar, at his arm, five others were also injured.” The gunmen reportedly stormed the village on Monday night, through a maize farm and shot sporadically at the residents in the wee hours of Tuesday. But residents said the attackers were repelled by the STF. Another tale says a 70-year old man was killed in the community during an attack on the same community on Saturday night. The Media officer of the STF, Ikedichi Iweha, confirmed the death of the soldier and five others.
